Head down to James Street this weekend and you’re in for a serious treat as famous Tippling Club’s own Jonathan Lee will be shaking things up at Gerard’s Bar. But don’t think he’ll just be serving up cocktails in a glass like everyone else, that would be way too easy and Lee likes a challenge. Instead, he’s bringing us an exclusive taste of their spanking new cocktail menu, made entirely of gummy bears. Yep, that’s the world’s first menu of edible cocktails, and it's coming to Brisbane.
These are no ordinary lollies, Tippling Club’s little sweets are the hardest working gummy bears in the business. Like something fresh off the belt at Wonka’s factory, the different flavours of the handmade gummy bears render a different cocktail, each one representing a different aspiration, in keeping with the ‘Dreams and Desires’ theme of the project. We’re desperate to try the sweet taste of ‘Success’, with red wine, amaro, cognac and whisky, as well as the gutsy flavours of ‘Power’, ‘Revenge’ and ‘Lust’, along with more placid fancies like ‘Peace’, ‘Happiness’ and a ‘Holiday’. Whatever your desire, Tippling Club have crafted a gummy for it.
The menu of twelve bears goes for just $24 and comes presented in an old-school green and white-striped paper bag. If you were the kind of kid who went weak at the sight of a pick ‘n mix, this is one event you cannot miss. No reservations necessary, just walk in and get chewin’.
