Shall we repeat that for you again? A GIANT ICE SLIDE IS COMING TO MELBOURNE THIS WINTER!!
From 25 June—17 July, a 40-metre long, four-metre high ice slide will be set up on Southbank’s waterfront, allowing every kidult in Melbourne to experience the thrill of riding an inflatable tube down a block of ice. You know, if that's something that's been on your bucket list too...
The slide will take three days to construct, using a fine misting system at -12 degrees—which means it'll be 100% real ice—and everyone who rides the slide will get discounted admission at both Eureka Skydeck and Federation Square’s ice-skating rink. There will even be a food truck park set up from 11am, to make the experience even more Melbourne than it already is.
Prices start at $10 for three ice slides—and with duel lanes for battling mates to ice-slide-superiority, we reckon that's a stone cold bargain. You can buy tickets on the day on-site, or check out more info about the event here.
