After making the list of the best burgers of the north, we thought we’d go anti-clockwise and hit the best burgers of Melbourne's west. After all, we want to keep our readers on their feet.

When most people think burgers from the western suburbs, they automatically think 8Bit Burgers and that's about it. There are so many more options to discover, so here are 8 other burgers worth checking west of the Maribyrnong.

Note, if you haven’t noticed yet, all of our burger lists are listed in alphabetical order.

Between 2 Buns

Altona, Williamstown, Hoppers Crossing & Sunbury

With three locations in the west, Between 2 Buns must be doing something right to please the locals. Nice soft patties, succulent fried chicken, crispy bacon and a good sauce mix, what else do you need from a burger joint? Well, their dirty fries and Ferrero Rocher milkshake are just two more additions that make Between 2 Buns a great location.

Blue Marlin Fish n Chips

Caroline Springs

This old fish and chip shop recently got a fresh lease on life, thanks to a new management team who took over in early 2017. The team’s first priority: make ridiculous burgers. The young, fresh approach has turned a dying business into one of the best burger joints in the West, and Blue Marlin is now pumping out some damn tasty burgers.

Found 401

Found 401 is a great spot for a burger in Sunshine with ample seating inside as well as some seating outside. I slightly modified their OG by adding extra Beef, Bacon and Fried Chicken and I took out the tomato - I then named this burger the BBFC because that is what I added to it. Didn’t know there were any good burgers in Sunshine? Well, you do now.

Gorilla Grill

Did somebody say fried chicken IN waffles? We’re talking crispy toasted, golden waffles, gnarly fried chicken, cheese, bacon, spicy mayo and golden syrup! Life’s too short not to eat things like this and then regret them enormously TAKE MY MONEY NOW #yolo

St Burgs

The kings of the smashed patties! With the burnt edges, it gave the outer bites a bit of a crunch while the inner bites are kept nice and soft. The patties are cooked to a medium and are seasoned perfectly. St Burgs won the blind taste test for the best beef patties at the Big Burger Biannual held at Hank Marvin against some of Melbourne’s best burger joints.

Sliders On Tyres

How did this food truck make it onto the best burger of the west list? Well if you live in the west, you may or may not have realised that this sneaky food truck actually operates via UberEats to the locals every Thursday night. As one of Melbourne’s best burger trucks, those in the west are lucky to have Sliders on Tyres available on request, even if it is only one day a week… for now.

Truckstop Deluxe

Think Grand Trailer Park but in the west. Slinging out delicious patties and alcoholic milkshakes, Truckstop Deluxe is definitely spicing things up in Werribee. The inside of Truckstop features two actual big rigs, one of which you can sit inside while you eat your meal, great for kids of all ages. Also, leave room for dessert because the waffle stack is magic.

Flame 400

Bacchus Marsh

The third venue for Flame 400 in the far western suburb of Bacchus Marsh opened in late 2017. With their monster fried chicken burgers, loaded fries, ribs and pimped up shakes, the far west can thank their lucky stars a quality burger joint has arrived!
