Life’s pretty good on the Sunshine Coast. The warm weather, clean beaches, delicious restaurants and some heavenly cocktail bars are pretty damn fine. Trust us, you're going to want to head there very soon. Ladies and gentlemen, it is our pleasure to introduce to you the Sunshine Coast’s newest food festival, The Curated Plate.
This four-day destination food festival has given us a sneak peek into some of the most exciting events from their debut program, and even though the festival is still a while away, it’s never too early to start talking about food.
So here’s the run down. The Curated Plate will take place from August 8 to 11, and will be a four-day celebration of the joy of food, showcasing the best chefs from Australia and around the globe. The festival aims to promote the relationship between chef and producer, and encourages guests to immerse themselves in the flavours and enjoy a unique culinary experience that foregrounds local produce and sustainable farming practices.
And as for the events, well, let’s just say you won’t run out of things to do. There’s the Legends Lunch at Yandina Station; a three-course long lunch with matched wines prepared by the incredible Peter Gilmore (Quay, Bennelong) and one of the most talked about chefs of the moment, New Zealand-born, Australian-based, Analiese Gregory (Franklin).
In addition, there's a Seasonal Stars four-course dining experience at Mooloolaba Beach, where you can dine on food created by British mastermind and food prodigy Raymond Blanc.
There’s also a plethora of other events including a wild forage dining experience, a Feijoa Fiesta, a beach cinema, a food fair at Black Swan Park. The festival will celebrate the very best of the Sunshine Coast and all it has to offer, with events scattered from the coastline to the heart of the Hinterland. More events are yet to be announced too, so keep your eyes on their website for more details.
The Sunshine Coast hasn’t seen anything like this festival before, so be sure to book your tickets as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
