I know, I know. There are A LOT of dishes that we tell you that you need in your life, but this time we really mean it folks. If we had to choose just one cheese dish to sustain us for the rest of our lives, then this would probably be it.
Picture this: A giant hotplate is brought to your table. Half of the central plate is piled with delicious, quality cheese just waiting to be melted. The other half contains the most perfect sticky pork ribs. The outer segments of the hot plate house a selection of the ultimate Korean condiments, as well as edamame, corn and some additional barbecue sauce. The burners are lit, and slowly the cheese begins to soften, then flatten into a delicious, gooey, cheesy melt before it starts to bubble.
Got that image in your mind? Great. Now imagine dipping those perfect pork ribs into the cheese, twirling them around and around to pile as much cheese as possible onto each rib. Voila! Molten cheese pork ribs from Oh Deer!
Chances are, there’ll be more cheese than you know what do with, so this is the perfect opportunity to mix all the remaining cheese with your left over corn etc. It really is the cheesy gift that just keeps on giving.
If you’re wanting to order a few other finger lickin’ dishes while you’re at Oh Deer—and we recommend you do—then there are seemingly never ending options. The whole menu is an inventive, fusion take on Korean, mixing up traditional flavours to challenge your idea of the cuisine.
The trio of fried chicken is an absolute must, as is the stone-grilled wagyu. Our favourite bight-size morsels are the pork belly in nori (remember what we said about fusion?!) Leave ????
You’re going to need something to drink. We’re completely nuts for the DIY test tube cocktails—they’re fun, delicious and super insta-worthy.
You’ll find Oh Deer Korean Fusion in Tivoli Arcade in the CBD. The food is delicious, the service and next-level and it’s everything fusion food should be.
