Keen to sink your teeth into this mindfulness thing that everyone’s talking about? Wanderlust, a global lifestyle group that focuses on fitness of the body and mind, hits Melbourne this May, bringing together a host of our beautiful city’s fitness and wellness gurus in the one-day event, Wanderlust 108. The festival includes organic food, crafts, aeroyoga, slack-lining (like tightrope walking but a million times more difficult, I kid you not), meditation in Melbourne, and a triathlon, but not as you know it!
The Wanderlust 108 triathlon is a kinder version of the traditional three-part challenge. It features a five kilometre charity run, an outdoor yoga class, and guided mass meditation sessions. We’ll be honest with you, Listers, this is one triathlon which actually sounds fun (and doable, even if you’ve been hitting our 50 top cheese dishes hard).
If you’re a yoga or meditation newbie, don’t be discouraged—Wanderlust 108 is the perfect place to try meditation in Melbourne. There’ll be a 90-minute yoga class, designed for all skill levels and guided by acclaimed instructor Simon Park, so you’re in very capable hands. Likewise for meditation—1 Giant Mind founder Jonni Pollard will be dishing out the tips and tricks to help you find your chill. Even if sitting still isn’t exactly your strong point, we’re sure you’ll end the day more zenned out than you started it!
Located on Melbourne’s picturesque water edge in Catani Gardens, St Kilda, Wanderlust 108 is shaping up to be a cracker. So ditch the late-night Friday vino, put a hold on the weekend brunch-athon, and lock in a Saturday that’s good for your body and soul.
