Good news for those of us who are itching to travel somewhere that isn’t Cairns: the Sunshine Coast Airport is set to welcome Qantas back Thursday 19 November for the first time since March, as the carrier commences its inaugural service to Australia’s capital.

That’s right, you’ll be able to pay Canberra a visit without having to actually drive there or fly out of Brisbane. Considering flights out of the Sunny Coast Airport (and everywhere else) have been extremely limited, we'll call this a win.

The airline’s regional brand, QantasLink, will fly three times a week between the Sunshine Coast and Canberra, with the route set to provide more than 2,600 seats a month.

You can check out the Sunshine Coast Airport website for more details.
