Clear your weekend, because this year’s World Environment Day Festival is going completely online, so you can tune in from home.

Celebrating our unique environment here on the Sunshine Coast for 40 years, the World Environment Day Festival is one of the much-loved annual events that has had to pivot in a big way, turning their physical festival into a digital masterpiece.

A large crowd of people gather for the World Environment Day Festival held by the water on the Sunshine Coast.

Held this weekend from Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June, you’ll be able to tune in to live streams on Facebook and YouTube

This year the theme is ‘biodiversity’, so expect to hear from international guest speakers in engaging panel discussions about climate change, plus a range of local environmental organisations who are passionately working to protect and conserve the Sunshine Coast’s rich biodiversity.

To lighten the mood, get your lounge room dancefloor ready for sounds from local bands Dear Doonan and Bearfoot.

For more information about the World Environment Day Festival or to tune in to the festival this Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you can visit the WED website, their Facebook page or YouTube channel.
