Restaurants

The Loose Moose

The seasoned hospitality team behind The Loose Moose literally knocked our socks off when unveiling one of the most mind-blowing restaurant designs to descend on our sunny shores. Inspired by the illicit underground speakeasies of America’s 1920s Prohibition era with a twist of its Canadian cousin, The Loose Moose has an insane 130 whiskeys behind the bar. Plus, its too-hard-to-choose food menu (think: gourmet burgers, sliders and hot dawgs, steaks, and slow-cooked meats) will ensure one visit will most certainly not be enough.

Bars & Pubs

The Avenue

If there’s ever a venue that's iconic, it’s The Avenue, a GC institution in the heart of Surfers. From its origins in the 70s as one of Australia’s first nightclubs, it’s benefitted from a multi-million dollar refurb (and move across the road) to bring it back to the right side of modern (while all the good vibes remain). The Avenue's buzzing atmosphere guarantees you and the crew will have a fab afternoon, but not at the expense of genuinely good food: think an Italian-influenced, New York-style menu of oysters, entrees, gourmet burgers, charcuterie platters, pasta, steaks and salad, all washed down with plenty of drinks. Quintessential beachy Surfers Paradise feels!

Restaurants

Moo Moo Wine Bar & Grill

Date night, girl's night or dinner with the lads, fanciful Moo Moo is great for all occasions. Enjoy a cheese plate and oysters, then choose from their extensive list of wines or overlook Broadbeach’s Victoria Park while enjoying Moo Moo’s signature steak. If cocktails are your style, an Apple Vineyard Bellini or espresso caramel margarita is a must. Don’t leave Moo Moo without at least a bite of their house made chocolate honeycomb or choc fudge sundae. If you’re on the hunt for one of the best steak restaurants on the Gold Coast, well, you’ve found it.

Restaurants

Cardamom Pod | Broadbeach

Cardamom Pod is the OG of vegetarian eating in the heart of Broadbeach, where you can enjoy a weekend breakfast array of Insta-worthy waffles, pancakes, mermaid and acai bowls. They've also always had options for lunch and dinner, like vegetarian salads and hot savoury meals like shepherd’s pie, lasagne, curries, dahl and moussaka, but recently they've upped their dining game and we're loving it.

Restaurants

Gemelli Italian

A packed dining room seven nights, plus lunch Thursday to Sunday, is a testament to the young Carney brothers who introduced some of the most authentic Italian fare to the Gold Coast. Gemelli, translating to ‘twin’ in the mother tongue, is the original trattoria in this hospitality empire and is somewhat of an institution among pizza and pasta lovers.

The former convenience store-turned-café is honestly so gorgeous you’ll find yourself dropping ‘so cute’ comments the second you step inside. There’s wall to wall bookshelves crammed with colour-coordinated reads, fairy lights strung up next to a chandelier and Persian rugs cover the floor. But despite its obvious beauty, Bumbles – nestled in the heart of Budds Beach - is homely and warm, serving up a menu that makes the simplest thing unbelievably tasty. Or, if you’re feeling daring, you can have what we at The Urban List call a backwards day, where you eat dessert for breakfast and work your way back until you’re having breakfast for dessert. In this case, red velvet cake for brekkie is a safe bet. One of the best breakfasts in Surfers Paradise? You bet! They also make a cracking cuppa and offer high tea on the weekend. What are you waiting for?
