A Giant X-Wing Fighter Just Landed In The CBD

By James Shackell

That’s no moon...that’s a train station.

Yep, a giant (life sized?) X-Wing Fighter plane has just crash landed at Southern Cross Station. Presumably in anticipation of the new Star War: The Last Jedi, which opens next week.

The X-Wing is parked at the entrance to SoCro, and passers by are encouraged to jump up in the cockpit and have a ride (don’t push the hyperspace button, for obvious reasons.)

The sign out front says this is a 1:1 replica, made exactly to scale, although what they’re basing that on we have no idea.

True story: the X-Wing is famed throughout the galaxy as the craft Luke Skywalker used to destroy the Death Star, shooting a vent no bigger than a womp rat.
