Summer just got a whole lot hotter.
The Drumstick—around since 1963—is the quintessential Australian summer dessert. It’s as Aussie as a pair of thongs, or Vegemite, or the Victa Mower.
Gelato Messina has also become a staple of the Australian summer, with locations all across the country now—and now these two Australian ice cream icons have come together for an epic collaboration to kick the year off right.
This is not just some mashed together collab, the flavours are next level, and you’ll be able to grab a box of these to throw in your freezer from Coles, Woolworths, and independent grocery stores from mid-January.
“At Messina we are always innovating, so when the idea of collaborating with Peters Drumstick came up, we were excited. We knew it would be fun to get our hands on something so familiar to Australians and put our unique twist on it.” said Declan Lee of Gelato Messina.
There are four flavours in the range, which are:
- Mango & Salted Caramel | Fresh Kensington Pride mango sorbet entwined with Murray River Salted Coconut sorbet, topped with Kensington Pride Mango sauce and toasted coconut flakes.
- Vanilla Bean & Peanut Praline | Rich three fold vanilla bean ice cream, topped with a sweet & salty peanut praline and dark chocolate.
- Roasted Hazelnut | A unique MESSINA hazelnut sauce made with hazelnuts all the way from Cortemilia in Italy, swirled through an indulgent gelato, topped with roasted hazelnuts.
- Dulce de Leche | Made with MESSINA’s trademark Dulce de Leche sauce combined with creamy ice cream and chocolate coated biscuit pieces.
The Drumstick x Messina collection is available for a limited time only. Each flavour comes in a multi-pack of four that will set you back a cool $9.99.
You’ll also be able to grab the Mango & Salted Coconut, and Roasted Hazelnut from the freezer of your nearest servo for $4.90, just in case you’ve got any road trips coming up.
