With cloudy skies and freak thunderstorms now *hopefully* behind us, we can start to enjoy all that Melbourne has to offer come summer, like rooftop bars, hitting up the beach, and most importantly—outdoor cinemas.
Following on from a massively popular season last summer, the legends at QV Outdoor Cinema—Melbourne’s only silent cinema—are back again with a program packed with everything you need to have a long and successful summer. You’ll come across live entertainment, free cocktails, special food, red carpets, Insta-famous dogs, charity screenings, a film festival and plenty more to sink your teeth into.
It all kicks off on November 30 with a free (that’s right—FREE) screening of Sex & The City: The Movie and a themed cocktail party to coincide with QV Melbourne’s Shop The City event. Spend up big at the top-notch fashion outlets on Albert Coates Lane then hit the red carpet for the Shop + Sex & The City launch event which will feature a live soundtrack of funky beats, customised cocktails from Father’s Office, and soft-serve courtesy of Aqua S. You can find out more details about the cocktail party right here.
If you can’t make this great event, don’t fret as there’s plenty more coming your way. A highlight over QV Melbourne’s three-month program includes Doggie + Deckchair events which will be held in December, January and February. Bring your best mate along with you to check out classics like Lady And The Tramp on December 10, and give them the chance to meet some Instafamous and adoption dogs on the red carpet. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Doggie + Deckchair charity, Lort Smith Animal Hospital.
Tickets throughout the whole season are only $12, so it’s kind on the hip pocket, plus if you spend $10 or more with selected QV food retailers they’ll throw you a unique code which will bring your ticket price down to $10. Nice!
You can check out the whole three-month program of films and events over at qvcinema.com.au, but jump on there quickly as they’ll be selling out mighty fast.
