If you reckon it’s a bit cold today, gold star for you because some places this morning to a ‘feels like’ temp of ZERO degrees Celsius—hello winter.

The big cold from the experts are talking about will hit Melbourne Thursday night and will gradually get worse until we absolutely cop it with rain and wind mid-Friday.

Today is the coldest day since September 2017, and in Ballarat they’re not even expecting the temp to get to double figures—not ideal for the gold miners.

BOM has issued warnings for heavy rain and winds that will cause some damage with gusts of up to 100km/h expected throughout Gippsland.

6.5 centimetres of snow has fallen at Mount Hotham, and that will only increase once the cold front properly hits.

No doubt we can expect a few issues on the road, and if you’re taking the train home, so keep safe, and keep an eye on BOM for all the latest warnings and updates.

If you need a hand finding something indoors to do during the storm, here's a handy list.
