Calling all art-lovers and dancing kweens—Melbourne is getting a jaw-dropping free arts festival, and you might as well clear your October diaries.
To celebrate the (real) start of spring, Chaddy is throwing down a late-night pop-up festival every Saturday night through October. Festival de Luxe will celebrate everything OTT and will feature a heady mix of cabaret, circus sideshow and contortion.
Performances have been curated by La Soirée director (and KING) Brett Haylock. The main performers (think: burlesque after a triple espresso shot) will last 20-30 minutes and will run every Saturday night, throughout October.
The line-up includes shows from the world-renowned arts company, Strange Fruit. The production, who have toured internationally, fuse theatre, dance and circus by utilising their unique, trademark sway-poles (they're ultra bendy poles).
The award-winning Born in a Taxi is also bringing their finest to the table. Enlighten is a visually-stunning light show, and debuted at 2017's White Night. There'll also be roving performances throughout the night, so we highly recommend bouncing from the pop-up round stages located outside Target, David Jones and Tiffany to catch the best of the best.
To celebrate the occasion, Chadstone is also giving away a luxe trip for two to see the original La Soirée in London! Simply visit any of the three stages between 4pm and 9pm every Saturday for your chance to win.
Retailers will also be open late (until 9pm every Saturday and 7pm every Sunday), so you can squeeze in some after-hours shopping and a luxe dinner at the Dining Terrace. Restaurants including Burger Project and Ladurée will be creating Festival de Luxe-inspired dishes and mocktails (Marie Antoinette tea, grapefruit syrup, strawberry nectar and apple juice!) for the occasion, and will be open late every Saturday.
