Melbourne’s New Underground Stations Have Finally Been Named

It’s been a long, drawn-out process, but the final 4 names of the new Melbourne Metro Tunnel stations have been decided upon, but unfortunately, none of our suggestions made the cut.

Also, luckily, Stationy McStationface is not one of the final names.

Premier Daniel Andrews announced the new station names on social media this morning, most controversial will be the fact that the station formerly referred to as ‘Arden’ will be named ‘North Melbourne’, with the existing North Melbourne station’s name to be changed to ‘West Melbourne’.

Here are the final station names:

  • CBD South > Town Hall Station
  • CBD North > State Library
  • Domain > Anzac
  • Parkville > Parkville (extremely creative)
  • Arden > North Melbourne

Did you hear that there is not just one, but there will be two floating bars on the Yarra this summer?
