It finally happened: recycling just got sexy. That’s because, to celebrate National Recycling Week, there’s a couple of cafes in Melbourne that are giving away FREE coffee to anyone that brings in a re-useable cup.

The deal lasts until this Sunday the 19 November, and the two names you need to remember are Lights In The Attic and The Crux & Co. If you live or work anywhere near those guys, you just won the jackpot.

The whole thing is a joint initiative with Frank Green re-useable coffee cups. A little something to remind us that Aussies chuck away over 1 BILLION Styrofoam coffee cups every single year, and that’s kind of a bad thing.

“It’s important small businesses continue to think about what they can do for the environment,” says Kevin Li, Director of Lights In the Attic and Crux & Co. “With one billion coffee cups reaching our landfill each year, encouraging the use of reusable cups, like frank green, is a small step in helping fix a larger problem.”

Now before you start dreaming of 15 coffees per diem, there’s a 1 drink per person per day cap on this deal. Probably a good thing. It’s hard to type when you’re physically vibrating due to caffeine overload.

The Details

Where: Lights In The Attic (Hawthorn) and The Crux & Co (South Melbourne)
