It used to be you could run onto the hallowed MCG grass after every game. Kick to kick was just the thing you did. But people started digging out turf to take home and grow their own Backyard ‘G...and these days they only let fans on a few times a year.
Well now there’s a chance to go old-school and run out onto the MCG for a good old-fashioned kick-to-kick. And it’s all thanks to AFLW.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, they’re hosting a 700-person kick-to-kick extravaganza. You’ll be able to bring a footy and have a kick on the ‘G, meet some AFLW heroes, practice your torp's, and enjoy some live tunes and bangin’ food.
There’s a few rules though: flat shoes only (no heels, no footy boots), BYO footballs and bring a Myki card (there’s no parking at Yarra Park mid-week, sorry folks). Entry is FREE, but it’s limited to the first 700 sign-ups, so get cracking. You can register over here.
The kick-off starts at 5pm. Now, check out this epic banana...
Where: The MCG (enter through Gate 6)

All that exercise is gonna work up an appetite. Good thing there's an Easter Chocolate Market coming to Melbourne.
