We hope you didn't blow away after that hurricane we experienced this week. (Wednesday was definitely the wrong day to wear a dress.)

Other than that, a lot happened in the beautiful, non-windy world of food. We found some new restaurants worth your time, cheap eats and a bowl of ice cream that might make you drunk. Here's all the news you missed this week.

  • Head to Basta Osteria for their epic new Apertivo during the work week. They’re serving $9 Aperol Spritz, plus cheap bites. YAS.

  • The world really is your oyster. Tokosan announced they're serving $1 oysters on the first Monday of each month. Plan accordingly.

  • We just found Melbourne’s ultimate ice cream sandwich and it’s right in CBD. Hallelujah!

  • Chinese New Year is underway and Rice Paper Sister is serving something called Lucky 88 (eight Vietnamese dishes matched with eight drinks) on Sunday. Bring the stretchy pants.

  • FYI: Our friends at The Exchange Hotel just launched Espresso Martini ICE CREAM BOWLS for $8. We’ll take 10.

  • It seems as though Melbourne is Golden Gaytime’d out, so now Milo Martinis are a thing. We’ll hold our judgements til we try it.

  • Brunswick just got an Insta-porn brunch bar. Think Nutella waffle sandwiches, topped with mango sorbet and coconut caramel sauce. Meet you there.

  • A live concert series of Planet Earth II is coming to Australia. Pre-sale tix go on sale 16 February...go, go, go!

  • Grab your mates and check out these new cellar doors before summer ends.

  • PSA: Here are 50 Melbourne brunch dishes that you need to try because nothing else matters. Spoiler alert: there’s no avo smash on this list.

  • We got to visit Melbourne’s new Yokocho-style Japanese restaurant and you can find us nom-ing on their tempura.

  • Hold the phone! There’s a Champagne festival coming to Melbourne. BRB, picking out an outfit.

Looking for something to do this weekend? We found 30 things happening in Melbs to pencil in your diary.
