There’s A Dim Sim Eating Competition Coming To Melbourne

It’s the event you’ve been training for your whole life. Dimmies, dimmas, dim sims—how many do you reckon you could scoff in five minutes?

One Beaconsfield burger bar wants to find out.

Yep, Sally’s Big Ass Burgers are holding their annual ‘Dim Sim Scoff Off Comp’ in November, and it’s looking ridiculous as ever. Here are the ground rules: you get exactly five minutes to eat as many dim sims as you can. Not steamed either, these are crunchy, golden nuggets, deep fried for extra chewiness. No drink or artificial lubrication allowed.

Entry is $15, and if you win you get your money back—can’t ask more than that. There’ll also be a classic car show on the day, with a few special vehicles making an appearance (think Lightning McQueen, the van from Scooby Do and a few Mad Max hot-rods).

Ballpark dim sim figure? Well last year’s winner downed 10 in five minutes. You could dust that easily, right?

The Details

Where: Sally’s Big Ass Burgers, 28 Beaconsfield-Emerald Rd
When: 10am – 3pm, Saturday 18 November
