Running until the 8th of June, The Act of Seeing art exhibition at the Hawthorn Arts Centre will examine the role of the art-fence: how the artist is viewed, and how the artist views the world. Spanning across three gallery spaces, The Act of Seeing features a number of local and international artists, including Emma Hack, Greg Blakey, Gloria Stern and Inez de Vega. Perfect for culture vultures and the artistically inclined.

Señors and señoritas, the Spanish Film Festival is back for another year! Presented by Estrella Damm, this year's program of 30 films boasts the very best contemporary Spanish-language cinema. Expect emotional road-trips, raucous comedies and thrillers that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. As always, there will be heaps of Spanish fiestas running throughout the festival, so gather your cinephile pals and head to a Palace cinema!

This Thursday, The Kelvin Club will host The Gin Queen, Caroline Childerley, for a gin tasting event like no other. Guests can sample a range of Australian gins, learn the story behind their favourite tipple and meet the distillers. The Gin Queen will include four cocktails from The Melbourne Gin Co (Dirty Martini), Yarra Valley distillery Four Pillars Gin (Negroni), Bass & Flinders from the Peninsula (a classic gin and tonic), and finally, Botanic Australia ("The Lawnmower" cocktail), plus canapés to soak it all up.

If you haven't had a chance to check out Goodbye Miss Monroe at Chapel Off Chapel this week, make sure you head there this weekend before the curtain falls this Sunday! This time 'round, it's Bollywood-themed, with N2 Extreme Gelato, Mörk Chocolate and Luxbite providing us with Indian inspired sweet treats. Head to Krimper Café this Friday to feast on savoury Indian food before you get elbow deep in the sweet stuff. There'll be market stalls, live music and even an Indian themed dessert shrine on display.
Entry is free, but there's a $10 'skip the queue' fast pass for those just can't wait to get their hands on the sweet stuff.

Foodies, get excited! A pop-up street food quarter, Rue & Co, is opening tonight (and we wrote about it here)! Three of Melbourne's hottest restaurants will be operating out of shipping containers. Jimmy Grants will be dishing out their delicious Mr Papadopoulos lamb souva, while St Ali will keep all caffeinated with their sensuous brew. What we're most excited about, however, is getting a taste of Kong BBQ, who will be unveiling their Korean delights just a few days before their restaurant opens. Can't. Wait.
