Dog fans, movie buffs, food fanatics and lovers of the outdoors (aka everyone), listen up. American Express Openair Cinemas is back for a wonderful season of flicks—and the best bit is your dog is invited!
But that’s not all there is to rave about, running from 30 November to 20 December at St Kilda's South Beach Reserve (right next to the sea baths), there will be all kinds of purveyors of food and booze on hand to keep your taste buds happy.
Join Ladro at one of their three pop-up alfresco long table dinners, which involve three courses paired with wine and a heckin’ delicious napNaplesspired menu. If you don’t make it to one of those, the Ladro gang will be churning out delicious Italian eats for each and every session, so be sure to wear those stretchy pants.
The bar will be serving all of the summer classics, like Aperol Spritz and frosé, craft beers from 4Pines, Giesen Wines and a whole range of exciting cocktails by Melbourne Martini including espresso martinis, salted caramel espresso martinis and margaritas. On top of this, the festival vibes will be flowing freely, with live beats from DJs and crafty corners where you can take a macramé masterclass or learn how to knit. This year the American Express Openair Cinemas have teamed up with the legends from OzHarvest and will be running Soul Sundays where you'll get to sample delicious foods, enjoy live music and take part in some Finska (Scandinavian lawn game) action, with $3 of your ticket price providing meals to six people in need.
You can bring your pooch to every single screening and there'll also be pawfect picnic platters and canine couches up for grabs—dream come true!
And don’t even get us started on the flicks. From Thor Ragnarok and Battle of the Sexes to Love Actually, Elf and Blade Runner 2049 (helloooo Mr Gosling), there’s something to suit all persuasions.
Plus, those lucky ducks out there with an American Express credit card are welcome to enjoy the VIP experience in the American Express Invites Lounge. You’ll get your own lounger, a cushion, blanket and tasty bites, not to mention 15% off your ticket when you pay with your AMEX card.
With tickets going for as little as $13, there’s never been a better time to plan your next movie date!
