6 Awesome Things To Do This Week

We are hand-on-heart gob-smacked that it’s almost that time of year where we indulge in copious amounts of chocolate—the stranger the shape, the better.

But ‘cause we’d never take on Mrs Calendar with her sharp, paper corners, we’re embracing that we’re almost a quarter (A QUARTER!) of the way through the year, with a seriously good list of things to do on the Sunshine Coast this week.

Here’s what’s happening:

Full Moon Yoga By The Sea | March 23

Don’t wanna scare you heat freaks, but winter and her darkness is just around the corner, which means doing yoga outdoors after 5pm will be near impossible. Embrace the last of the lighter evenings with a beachside yoga sesh at Point Arkwright on the night of the full moon. For 10 bucks—all proceeds are donated to Fiji—you’ll follow the lead of Vanessa Rudge from Being Yoga into all sorts of poses, as the sun sets and the moon rises. When you’ve found your Zen, there’ll be bliss balls, chai, and fire-twirling waiting for you. If you’re looking for things to do on the Sunshine Coast past 5pm, that don’t involve alcohol, this event could be up your alley. Don’t forget to BYO yoga mat.

Food Truck Alley | Weekdays

Ahhh Food Truck Alley. Let us count the ways thy loves thee. 1. A rotating, and edible list of the best food trucks on the Sunshine Coast. 2. Always in the same spot, so we don’t have to do the chasing. 3. It’s a weekday situation, which totally suits Maroochydore CBD and Nambour lurkers like us, looking for a lunch break posi outside of the office. 4. A rotating, and edible list of the best food trucks on the Sunshine Coast. 5. You get the point. For updates on who’s showing up today, check in to Urban Garden’s Facebook page.

MV Catalina’s Super Yacht Saturday | March 26

Missed out on a MV Catalina Sunday sesh? Never fear! These guys are listening to what the locals want, and right now that’s more, more, more! So, because it’s one of the best things to do in Noosa and everybody wants a piece of ‘em, MV Catalina is bringin’ Super Yacht Saturday to the Noosa events table. What the hell is it? Held once a month, this sleek afternoon includes delicious canapés, sets by renowned Sunny Coast DJs, stunning views, AND, most importantly, signature cocktails—all enjoyed as you float along the Noosa River. Tickets are $89, and will be worth every penny, so don’t sit on the fence over this one for long.

Lamkin Lane Live | March 26

It’s happenin’ again, so you’d better get on down to the 4551 district aka Caloundra, for this month’s Lamkin Lane Live. Feast on food truck fare, peruse artworks, and get a wee bit tipsy at the pop-up bar. Caloundra is a-changin’, and this ‘do is all the proof you need. #truth

Ocean Street World Festival | March 27

Celebrate Easter Sunday by showing your face at this giant annual community event. The lead up may seem low-key, but Ocean Street World Festival is actually the largest volunteer-run cultural festival in Australia. No joke! Running down our fave Maroochydore strip, you’ll find three stages with live music, pop-up bars, arts and crafts, and tasty food from around the world, making this one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast this long weekend. But be warned, this family-friendly event will put you in the paths of hundreds of kids on serious sugar highs. Guard yourself. And show no weaknesses.

Your Mates Brewing ‘Do | March 27

What do ya do when you’ve scoffed back all the chocolate within a 1km radius and are contemplating hitting bed with a severe comedown at about 2pm? You do what any sane person would do on Easter Sunday—head to Drift Bar. Sponsored by our friends at Your Mates Brewing Co., Drift will play host to a few local bands and epic drink specials that’ll make it very hard to say “nah” to. One of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast this long weekend. So much so, that these shindigs have been known to reach full capacity by about 5pm, so if you wanna get in, get there early.
