Best Sunday Sessions On The Sunshine Coast

In our opinion, there’s no better way to welcome in a new week than with a sneaky Sunday sesh.

Whether you’re ready for a relaxing afternoon or kicking on from Saturday night, the Sunshine Coast has some of the coolest spots to turn any old Sunday into a #sundayfunday, not to mention the best climate to do it in.

So chow down your brunch, hang out your washing, and put your fun pants on—it’s time to beat the back-to-work blues. Here are the best Sunday sessions on the Sunshine Coast—and they’re totally worth feeling slightly dusty on Monday morning for.

Yeah, yeah—we know we mention these guys a lot, but that’s only because they’re always doing such cool stuff! Head down to Café Le Monde every Sunday from 4pm for a drink, snack, and some great live music. But hold the phone, because once a month, the casual Sundays you all know and love turn into a proper Sunday sesh with epic street festival vibes! Think a kerbside BBQ, a freshly-shucked oyster bar, and a garden bar. Keep your eyes on their Facebook page to stay in the know.
Where: 52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

The team at Black Bunny Kitchen know how to show y’all a good time. We tried to think of a better way to while away a Sunday arvo than listening to live music, slurping away at craft beers, and chomping down on some southern fried chicken…but we couldn’t. We’re all out. All just a stone’s throw from the beach, BBK—as the locals call it—ticks all the boxes. We’ll see ya there!
Where: 180 Alexandra Parade, Alexandra Headland

Known as the spot that landed Palmwoods on the map, Rick’s is home to a legit Sunday sesh. Cruise in for some toe-tappin’ live tunes from 12pm-4pm, and munch down on some of the Coast’s best (and biggest) burgers. Their whisky bar also opens on Sundays, and man, it is flippin’ cool in there. If you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you still doing here?
Where: 14-16 Margaret Street, Palmwoods

In case you haven’t heard, Village Bicycle in Noosa has recently moved to brand spankin’ new digs, so that they could keep the incredibly good thing they had going and going and going. Fear not though, for their new home is but a wee stroll away! Split into three areas, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to where to settle in for your Sunday sesh. We love everything about the new Village Bicycle, but we reckon the best place to spend a Sunday is their beer garden… if you can nab a spot!
Where: 6/16 Sunshine Beach Road, Noosa Heads

There ain’t no party like an alleyway party! La Canteena on Ocean Street oozes coolness and is the perfect place for a chilled out Sunday sesh. Perfect for the penny pinchers (let’s be real, that’s all of us), a selection of your fave Mexican munchies are up for grabs for just $5, all day long! Put your spare change towards a couple of frozen margaritas, because did you really go out for Mexican if you didn’t wash it down with a margarita? You’ll even be tucked back in bed at a reasonable hour, ready to tackle Monday. Work-life balance? Tick!
Where: 19 Ocean Street, Maroochydore

The great bunch at Good Bar have been doing this whole Sunday thang for a while now with their Stolen Rum Sundays! Kicking off at 4pm sharp, you can get amongst $4 basics, house wine, tap beer, and Apple Jerrys from 4pm-6pm. If that wasn’t good enough, you can get your hands on a Smoke and Stormy or an Espresso Smoketini for just 12 smackers. Not to mention the yummy food these guys ALWAYS dish out. Could we have just stumbled upon heaven?
Where: 5/19-23 First Avenue, Mooloolaba

Moto would have to be one of the coolest little joints we’ve ever laid our eyes on! This custom motorbike dealership doubles as a café/bar/eatery, and y’all know we love a good hybrid! From 5pm every Sunday, stroll in to Moto and nab a woodfired pizza and two beers for just 30 buckaroos. If this isn’t a recipe for a good time, we don’t know what is!
Where: 66 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads

With one of the best beer gardens on the Coast, it’s no surprise The Post Office hosts a rockin’ Sunday sesh! The chefs at this Ocean Street fave put on a range of specials throughout the day for your tasting pleasure. Our pick? Two sliders, scoffed down alongside a schooner of Asahi for just $15. Get these babies and more in your belly anytime from 11.30am.
Where: 10 Ocean Street, Maroochydore

Drift Bar in Caloundra are pros at the good ol’ Sunday session. Bring the whole gang and invest your hard earned dollars into $15 craft beer jugs or $20 Somersby cider jugs over a spot of live music. Oh yeah, and they do gourmet pizzas, for like, $10. No biggie…
Where: 30 The Esplanade Bulcock Beach, Caloundra

The crew at High Tide in Mudjimba know how to make Sundays count. For starters, they serve breakfast until 3pm—perfect for the not-so-morning people among us! From 5pm, the live music be playin’ and the snacks be slayin’. We’ve heard their fish tacos are to DIE for, and the salt and pepper calamari… that seasoning is on point! Choose from three beers on tap and some sweeeet cocktails. Sunday funday indeed!
Where: 1/21-23 Mudjimba Esplanade, Mudjimba

Practically the inventor of the Sunday sesh, scoot in to your local surf club for quality bites, brews, and ocean views. It doesn’t get much better! Want to spread your wings? Here’s our list of the Sunshine Coast surf clubs with the best views.
