If, like us, you’re a sucker for any event involving food, then buckle up!
Because three of our fave Sunshine Coast restaurants are hosting tastebud-focussed shindigs this week, and you’re all invited.
From a smorgasbord of slow cooked meats and beers with your mates, to a perfectly cooked pasta overlooking the Noosa River or a French, bistro-style lunch—it’s all here! Now all you’ve gotta do is take your pick.
Bibfest | Thursday, April 27
Hosted by our friends at Black Bunny Kitchen, Bibfest AKA the meatiest festival around, is into its third year and we’ve got a hunch it’s going to be the best one yet. Renowned across the Coast for their epic BBQs (remember when they smoked hams for us all over Xmas?), Black Bunny Kitchen will be whacking a whole hog, whole goat, whole lamb, and beef ribs on the racks. For $65, you’ll get a table-breaking platter, loaded up with all of the meats, plus delish Texas fixings like cornbread, Texas slaw, and beans. It’s going to be thirsty work, so there’s also three drinks included to wash it all down. So good, huh?!
Cost: $65 each
When: Thursday, April 27 from 6.30pm
Where: Black Bunny Kitchen, 180 Alexandra Parade, Alexandra Headland
Italian Long Lunch | Sunday, April 30
If there’s anywhere that does a long lunch the right way, it’s Italy. And luck for us, one of the best Italian restaurants in Queensland is right on our doorstep. Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar are hosting their monthly foodie event this Sunday, and it’s the total opposite of a fast-paced, in-and-out dining experience. Kicking off at noon, the Italian Long Lunch is spread lavishly over five hours and includes a delish four-course menu that’ll have you handing out gold stars all over the place. For $60 per person—this also includes a glass of prosecco to help with the unwinding—if you can’t make it this time around, be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page for May’s dates. If you’re an Italian diehard, this is a must-add to your ever-growing list of things to do on the Sunshine Coast.
Cost: $60—Tickets must be booked in advance
When: Sunday, April 30 from 12pm
Where: Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar, 142 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville
French Long Lunch | Sunday, April 30
We’re already devout followers of their croissants and pains au chocolat—O.M.GEEEE, you need to try these—and now the folks at Noosa Hot Bread Shop are proving they’ve got the goods when it comes to lunch, too! Dishing up a four-course French provincial lunch, complete with matching wines, we may or may not be (we totally are) drooling at the teaser menu. It could be the pressed chicken and leek terrine or the wild mushroom and St Augur blue cheese tart, or the pain perdu with confit orange and vanilla bean ice cream. Or… you get the point. Seats are $60 each, and with drinks included, this is blatantly a steal.
