Riiiiise and shine, guys. Getting out of bed every morning is a smidge easier when you’ve got so many incredible Sydney cafes on your doorstep. Here’s 50 of Sydney's best breakfasts, so you never have to stop and think again.

Giddy up, Sydneysiders, there’s eating to do!

  1. First and foremost, the green bowl at Bondi’s Porch and Parlour. Haven’t had it? Go right now.
  2. The ‘grammable smashed avocado from Cammeray’s Laneway Café. With pea, mint, red pepper and macadamia pesto and a poached egg. Holy wow!
  3. Feeling saintly? Go for the nourishing Venus bowl at Venus Café in Surry Hills.
  4. The almost-too-pretty-to-eat berry hotcake from The Grounds of Alexandria.
  5. The Henley’s does Mexican at Henley’s Wholefoods is a wholesome twist on your favourite Mexican treat.
  6. The Merchant at Three Williams: chilli fried egg, crispy bacon, ranch dressing and pickled slaw on brioche. Cue drooling.
  7. The shakshuka at SHUK will make you a regular after just one bite.
  8. Bowery Lane’s smashed avocado with Persian feta and a sprinkle of quinoa is the best way to kick-start your working day.
  9. The aptly named chilled super food bowl at Bondi Harvest, packed full of nourishing goodies. 
  10. The chargrilled avocado and 63 degree egg from Erskine Villa… Need I say more?
  11. The refreshing coconut chia pudding at Harry’s, it’s as delicious as it is pretty.
  12. Focus your energies on the fabulous French toast from Stain Cafe in Hunters Hill.
  13. What about yum cha at Marigold? Yes, that counts as breakfast. 
  14. Live up the classics with the crispy sweet corn fritters from bills.
  15. Like it sweet? An Oregano Bakery cinnamon scroll is just the ticket.
  16. How about a smorgasbord of deliciousness in the form of Breakfast at Epiphane from Suzie Q?
  17. Try to limit yourself to one photo of the pearl barley breakfast bowl at Mecca Alexandria.
  18. Or, you could always get reacquainted with the crunchy rosti at Le Monde
  19. Never question getting stuck into the quiche from Newtown café Flour Drum.
  20. Give in to the red velvet pancakes from Local Mbassy, and learn what all the fuss is about.
  21. Get lost in the epic hollandaise foam atop the eggs benedict at White Rabbit.
  22. Did you know Opera Bar did breakfast on weekends? You do now! Go for the smashed avo with baby broad beans, mint and dukkah. Drool.
  23. Of course, you could always keep it simple with a croissant from Flour and Stone.
  24. Then, go all out on the dog’s board at Dachshund Coffee, where you’ll get to sample a bit of everything. 
  25. It will be impossible to decide between the shakshuka or big Israeli breakfast at Shenkin, so go for both. 
  26. Nothing is better than a classic done right, so go for the eggs benedict at Erskineville’s Urban Cat Café.
  27. Or even the house-made baked beans with fried eggs, avocado and feta from Wild Pear Café in Dural. Throw in a rosewater milkshake for good measure. 
  28. Partake in the vegan-friendly saffron scrambled tofu with Persian spiced eggplant at Bondi’s The Dandylion
  29. Keep it simple with the yoghurt bowl from West Juliett
  30. Or go for the crunchy option and dabble in the jamon & manchego toastie from Sly cafe in Surry Hills.
  31. The house smoked salmon pastrami, poached eggs, minted yoghurt, cucumber, and dukkah from The Incinerator. ‘Nuff said.
  32. Another one for the green lovers out there… The avo and herb smash at St Jude is a party in your mouth.
  33. Try your hand at the Vietnamese brunch at So. 9 the breakfast baguette is a game-changer.
  34. Trust in the trout rosti from Revolver in Annandale.
  35. And be not afraid of the Kepos benedict at Kepos St Kitchen
  36. The irresistible black sausage, scrambled eggs, dill cucumber yoghurt and red currant jam from the babes at Three Blue Ducks.
  37. The pulled pork eggs benedict from John Smith Café though…
  38. Of course, the buttermilk poppyseed hotcakes at Smalltown are a happy, fluffy and decadent way to begin your day, served with lavender apple compote, burnt maple, and vanilla bean double cream.
  39. What about a post-swim coconut chia pot with Cocowhip from Speedo’s Café in Bondi?
  40. The ginger mushrooms with crème fraiche, rye, and a poached egg from Maslows in Naremburn will give you life.
  41. Feeling decadent? It’s got to be the croissant French toast at The Boathouse.
  42. Speaking of which, you haven’t lived until you’ve tried one of the famous Nutorious muffins at The Penny Royal or Fika Swedish Kitchen.
  43. Lovers of all things fluffy will be in heaven with the pancakes from Pilgrims Cronulla.
  44. The pulled pork eggs benny with a fried egg, sriracha and hollandaise form The Baron Castle Hill is jaw-droppingly delicious. 
  45. Looking to keep it clean? Go for the heart smart egg white omelette at Indigo in Double Bay. 
  46. The buckwheat pancake with coconut yoghurt from COOH Café & Roaster in Curl Curl is gluten-free, dairy-free, and 100% lip-smackingly good.
  47. Who can resist the soul-warming rainy day toast from Bread & Circus in Alexandria? 
  48. The humble Vego-cado toast from Bondi Picnic tastes just like home.
  49. Go left-of-centre with the fregula Sardinia at Devon Café, with celeriac, roasted chestnuts, sage, pecorino, and a soft egg.
  50. Finally, the Southern fried chicken eggs benedict from Orto Trading Co. It’s exactly what it sounds like, and twice as good.
