A Five-Course Italian Feast

7th Nov 2013

To celebrate Sydney's first Italian Wine Festival, a number of Australia's finest chefs are joining forces to produce a five-course Italian feast—and you're invited.

The Italian banquet will be served share-style, and presented by acclaimed chefs including: Giovanni Pilu of Pilu at Freshwater; Alessandro Pavoni from Ormeggio at The Spit; Via Napoli's Luigi Esposito; Eugenio Maiale of A Tavola; Popolo's Niko Pizzimenti; Richard Ptacnik from Otto Ristorante; Gabriele Taddeucci of Balla fame; and Aperitivo's Francesco Spataro.

The menu is truly spectacular—tuna crudo with pistachio, figs and truffled honey; risotto of beetroot and Gorgonzola; oven-roasted suckling pig with roast potatoes; Sicilian-style crumbed lamb cutlets with cherry tomatoes; and sweet ricotta pizza for dessert.

Australia's top sommeliers will be introducing 11 exceptional matching wines, while wine journalist Max Allen will be commenting along the way.

The dinner will take place on November 11 at Popolo Restaurant at Rushcutters Bay. Tickets are available here.
