Manly’s Showbox Coffee Brewers | Now Open

By Ellie Schneider - 26 Feb 2014

Bo Hinzack, who has been in the coffee business for 13 years, has brought his coffee expertise to the beach, setting up Showbox Coffee Roasters at 19 Whistler Street Manly. Former owner of Mosman institution, The Penny Royal, Hinzack's latest venture is set to become a brunch fixture this side of the Spit Bridge.

A haven for lovers of espresso, the specialist café offers beans from Mecca, Reuben Hills and Marvell Street—but it's not just about the coffee here. With partner in crime, renowned chef Alex Rispoli, Hinzack has created a menu that comprises tasty, health-conscious options, including: black buckwheat tacos with snow crab, green mango and fresh ginger; fattoush with poached chicken, sumac snaps, chickpeas, and tahini yogurt; and Hawaiian-style salmon sashimi with wild rice and pickled ginger.

Named in homage to the 1930s-built music theatre in Seattle, Showbox Coffee Roasters is all about creating a sense of community, and Hinzack has just the right recipe to do just that.
