If you don’t already know, Pinot Palooza is a big festival for that delightful drop we love, pinot noir. So if you’re over that festival scene of hanging out in the sun all day, spending too long queuing up for everything and rubbing up against sweaty strangers in the mosh pit this is going to be riiight up your alley.
This year Pinot Palooza is going national and will be hitting Sydney on October 5th—which is a public holiday too, so cheers to getting boozed (responsibly) on a Monday. Get ready for a big day of tasting with 150 of the world’s best pinot noir including some from the top producers in the Southern Hemisphere. With that many to taste you’ll go on an adventure through the land of pinot noir, from ethereal and graceful delicate flavours to sophisticated suave and then those strong full-bodied, in your face, mouthful of flavour wines.
Held at Carriageworks in the Blacksmith’s Workshop, the line-up features pinot superstars from renowned Australian and New Zealand wineries—Ata Rangi, Bay of Fires, Shaw + Smith, Yabby Lake, Curly Float, Geisen and Nanny Goat to name a few. Once you’re there you’ll be able to vote for your favourite one, which will put you in the draw to win some fantastic prizes.
If slumming it with a regular old general ticket isn’t your thing get onto the VIP tickets ASAP. This will get you admission and a tour with a sommelier to give you the low down on all the finest pinots on show, Burgundy Bar tasting and a food voucher. But, if you’re really a pinot freak then grab yourself a ‘backstage pass’ which will give you access to the ins and outs, the whos and how of all things pinot and you’ll probably learn a thing or two that you can show off at the next dinner party.
They’ve thought of everything and you wont be needing any pesky little tokens for sampling, because each ticket includes a take-home pinot noir glass and access to all the wines there for tasting. Plus, it’s a pretty good souvenir too. Pinot Palooza will have you savouring every last drop of this October long weekend and with rocking music, great food and, of course, plenty of pinot.
