Oh rooftop bars! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth…
Yeh, okay. I’m not doing that. But the fact remains, I do love a rooftop bar and I am pretty stoked that Sky Terrace at The Star is back for summer.
With unbeatable views of Sydney Harbour, Sky Terrace is the perfect place to soak up the warm afternoons and balmy evenings our fabulous city delivers at this time of year.
Sky Terrace is dotted with pop-up bars serving your favourite beverages. Think cocktails, Coronas, cabernets… as well as heaps of drinks that don’t begin with ‘C’.
If fizz is your drink of choice, be among the first to try Veuve Clicquot RICH—a new champagne that is dedicated to mixology. RICH’s signature notes are magnified by the addition of selected ingredients such as pineapple, grapefruit zest, cucumber and tea. Open until New Year’s Eve, this activation will be serving a matched food offering of citrus cured Tasmanian salmon with yuzu curd and puffed wild rice. Yum!
Speaking of grub, sophisticated bar food complements your Sky Terrace experience. There are a range of dishes on offer including slow cooked bourbon braised beef, corn and zucchini fritters with hot tomato sauce, and the Sky Terrace signature dish of barbeque pulled pork and cheese quesadilla with pickles and jalapenos—best shared with a friend.
The soundscape—integral to creating such chilled rooftop vibes—comes courtesy of an impressive DJ line-up including Nino Brown, Cassette, Kali and Cool Jerk.
Venue manager, Andrew Hobbs, says Sky Terrace is constantly evolving in an effort to impress patrons, existing and new.
“This year we are catering for all weather, with the installation of a transparent marquee (so) our patrons will be able to enjoy themselves rain, hail or shine,” he says.
“You’ll also see the return of the Main Terrace Bar lit up with LED lights, which we are bringing back following the success from VIVID Sydney.
“We like to continually delight our guests with new things happening all the time—so definitely watch this space in the New Year as we have a few more exciting things up our sleeves!”
Sky Terrace is open on Thursdays from 5pm until 10pm, on Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm until midnight and on Sundays from 3pm until late.
The venue is closed for private events on a scattering of dates. Check the website to avoid disappointment.
