Rather than schlepping down the Pacific Motorway to get your fill of tasty Hunter Valley treats, the wonderful winemakers, providers and chefs from around the region are bringing the fun to you. The newest food festival to grace our social calendar is Hunter by the Harbour—a month-long shindig involving chef dinners, 101 master classes, and plenty of local beer and wine on tap. Who says there’s not many things to do in Sydney?!

Hunter by the Harbour will take place around Cockle Bay Wharf from October 12th to November 8th and features 21 events spread across the precinct’s numerous bars, restaurants, and outdoor spaces.

“The Hunter Valley is one of New South Wales' most iconic regional areas and it was logical for us to marry that reputation for fine produce and wine with our range of harbourside restaurants and bars to create an inspiring dining experience for our customers" says General Manager of Cockle Bay Wharf and Darling Park, Keith Burns.

Saturday, October 31th and Sunday, November 1st will see Handmade in the Hunter—the best Hunter Valley artisans and providores coming together to showcase their wares in an exclusive two-day market event. The market is only one of the ways in which Sydneysiders will get a sense of the rich Hunter Valley community as they taste and buy the wonderful nosh grown and produced in the region.

Women in Wine takes place on October 21st and brings together two outstanding female winemakers to discuss their achievements in a male dominated field. Gwyneth Olsen from Briar Ridge and Liz Silkman from First Creek will lead the discuss and field questions while guests indulge in a three-course meal at the ever-stylish Cafe Del Mar.

Other standout events include Meet the Winemaker at Baia the Italian, the Calais Estate wine dinner at Nick’s Seafood, and the Murrays Craft Beer Co. popup bar at Pontoon.

If you’re looking for things to do in Sydney that involve a bit of food, wine and a lot of fun, Hunter on the Harbour is a must for your calendar.

Tickets to all Hunter on the Harbour events are available now until sold out so head to the website to book!
