Every month, one member of The Urban List team will be sharing what they are currently obsessing over—and surprise! It’s not just food.
This month Josh Berg, our Sydney marketing specialist, shares what’s on his radar. From Netflix bingeing on Shameless, to getting his vegan on at one of Sydney’s best cafes, this is what’s on Josh’s radar this month.
Ray Ban Wayfarers
Ray Ban Wayfarers are always a classic. I picked up a new pair a week ago and am loving them.
Shameless on Netflix
With most TV shows I don’t have the patience to follow more than one character. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead bucked this trend. Shameless was the next in line and after finishing Season 4 I’m well and truly hooked.
Vegan options at restaurants
Gone are the days of laboriously scouring menus before every café visit. There’s a vegan option pretty much anywhere these days—thank you Sydney cafés!
Craft Beer—Burleigh Breweries Pale Ale 28
My favourite craft beer at the moment is Pale Ale 28 made by Burleigh Breweries in Queensland. It’s a nice pale ale with a little bit of fruit.
Weddings (not mine)
In the last month I’ve grown quite fond of weddings. By that I mean the booze, dancing and dressing up part of the whole thing.
Bose SoundSport In-Ear Harphones
Okay so these are the first pair of headphones I own that didn’t just come with my phone. Now I know what everyone’s talking about. I’m currently loving getting lost in my tunes on the morning commute.
Travel (and planning to travel)
A long-time passion of mine (although who doesn’t love it?). With every adventure comes a new seemingly profound learning and just a whole lot of fun. I’m in the final stages of booking a trip to Cambodia over New Years.
Avocado, marmite and baked beans on toast
Heavily smeared marmite followed by some avo on some sourdough toast with baked beans. Every morning, without fail for the last three years. Except for my meals out.
Three Williams Café
I’ve just discovered this Redfern cafe which is conveniently close to home. The spicy beans here are delicious for a vegan and the food seems to always come out moments after ordering which is always a win when you’re morning hangry.
Play AKA just having fun
I’ve always liked having fun (again, who doesn’t?), which takes up a large portion of my time. I just read Play—a book dedicated to explaining the social and business benefits of regularly playing. Good read.
