Australia’s best wine and food producers are assembling at The Rocks this November, and you’re invited (oh, and entry is free!). Vino Paradiso is back for three gloriously gluttonous days, and we are pretty darn excited about all of the eats, drinks and tasty collaborations taking place at this Sydney food and wine festival.

While there are over a thousand top wines to taste, from the Margaret River to the Barossa and Hunter Valley, there’s plenty of other alcoholic funsies to get excited about too. Dessert cocktails get literal with Pimms cocktail pops or lychee rosé sangria pops, perfect for cooling down in all that gorgeous Sydney sunshine. And to go with their adorable gyoza, Harajuku Gyoza are bringing in a frozen beer slushy, and it’s as smiley as we are about being there.

If you’re looking for something a little different after your usual wine-and-cheese pairings (because we know you’ll make a beeline to the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory), expand your vino horizons with Chocolate 5018, or discover why arancini actually partners magnificently with prosecco at The Wog with the Grog.

In terms of collabs, Messina and Logan Wines are bringing gelato and wine together with a Shirazzamatazz soft serve, while Black Star Pastry and Rocks Brewing Co are taking care of lunch with a Hangmans Pale Ale and beef brisket pie. With over 150 stalls taking part, it’s deliciously efficient to get in on some of these mash ups.

Of course you’ll probably need to make a little room in between tastings, so get into the spirit of things and stomp on some grapes. No really—it’s fun and actually a lot harder than you’d think! Enjoy the live music, pick up a few wine and food tricks at the Kingfisher VP Masters Classes, or check out the Great Wall of Wine as you explore The Rocks’ much-loved little laneways and cobblestone corners.

If you’re the kind of person who insists on sharing at restaurants so you can taste as many different things as humanly possible (guilty), you will kick yourself for missing this. And in case you’re worried a hungry queue will get between you and your drink, fear not, because Vino Paradiso have planned for the crowds with a token system. Pre-purchase your tokens and collect your Festival Glass on the day to be refilled many-a-time as you wine and wander. With tasty morsels starting at just $2.50, it’s an incomparable way to experience the best this country has to offer.
