Victoria’s Annual Hot Chocolate Festival Is Back Next Month

Take a seat by the fire and warm your toes. Victoria’s giant, unstoppable hot chocolate festival is back next month, and our bathroom scales are already low-key terrified.

If you haven’t been to this one before, it’s an annual celebration at the Yarra Valley and Great Ocean Rd Chocolateries. Each year they put their Wonka-like heads together and try to out-chocolate themselves.

Need examples? We’re talking 31 artisan flavours of hot chocolate, rotating throughout August. Think Tim Tam Slam, Iced Vovo, Lemon Myrtle and Oompa Loompa (orange hot choc topped with green fairy floss).

The Chocolateries are holding Hot Chocolate Tasting Sessions too, where you’ll be able to vote on your favourite flavours and go into the draw to win your bodyweight in chocolate.

There’s gonna edible chocolate biscuit cups, edible spoons, melting chocolate discs, exploding marshmallows (don’t ask, no idea) and even some experimental hot chocs made from insects.

31 flavours over 31 days. Yeesh. We’re really leaning into that winter bod...
