You can’t walk down the street at the moment without running into someone who has a side hustle, or at the very least, a podcast.
The coworking space in Australia has seen a ridiculous amount of growth over the past couple of years with so many quitting their 9 to 5 and focussing solely on personal projects, or creating the next big thing.
The likes of WeWork has launched on the east coast at a rapid rate, there are smaller coworking spaces for a more intimate experience, and now, there’s a coworking hotel opening in Sydney.
Kafnu—Alexandria, NSW—is Australia’s first coworking space with hotel accommodation attached.
Taking up 2 levels in business estate ‘The Mill’, Kafnu has 16 hotel rooms, cowoking spaces, along with 7 meeting rooms, and private offices—everything you’d expect from a great coworking space.
Other impressive features include a bar that serves up gin and local craft beer, a virtual fitness studio, a media production studio, meditation room, phone booths, kitchen area, and an events space.
You can’t just drop info Kafnu though, it’s a private members club.
“What Kafnu’s doing that’s really different to traditional coworking spaces is creating a private members’ club first and foremost that’s for a specific market of the new generation of creators…called hyphenates; these are people with multiple interests, they want to explore, they want to discover, they want to grow themselves.” said general manager Simon Hall.
Membership will set you back $750 a month, with $900 giving you access to a dedicated desk.
The plan is to launch 50 Kafnu sites across Asia Pacific by 2021. Sydney is the fourth location following Hong Kong, Tapei, and Bengaluru.
