Prahran Market’s ‘Say Cheese’ Festival Is Back This Weekend

Okay, let’s see if we can get through this without a single cheese pun. Focus. Stay away from ‘Gouda’. You can do this.

As you might have guessed, Prahran Market’s Say Cheese festival is back this weekend. This is Melbourne’s OG cheese celebration—a massive collab between cheese suppliers, farmers, local businesses and market favourites like Maker & Monger.

So what’s on this year? Well, as usual, there will be cheese-themed cooking demonstrations (including Maker & Monger’s own Anthony Femia and superchef Tobie Puttock), free tastings, pop-up market stalls and live entertainment running all day.

This year the Market is also running guided cheese tastings and Say Cheese Festival Flights. You can do cheese and tea pairings with Libertea, beer and cheese with Anthony Gardik from Wilson & Market, and even sake with cheese with Sam Studd.

Prahran Market traders are also getting in on the action. Q Le Baker is rocking cheese bread and cheese danishes, Fritz Gelato is making cheese gelati (!!) and Mama Marija’s will have a whole selection of special cheesecakes to try. You can check out the full list here.

Needless to say, anyone with lactose issues should give this a wide berth. For everyone else, Prahran Market is the only sensible place to be on Sunday. Wheel see you there!

...damn, so close.
