Nerd Alert: There’s A Massive Robotics Festival Coming To Melbourne

By Steff Tan
27th Oct 2017

Move over House of Dior ‘cos we’re saying goodbye to the past and taking a big step forward for robotic mankind *C3PO cheers in background*.

Hosted at Scienceworks ("it really does"), Robotica 2017 is the festival of all festivals for futuristic and low-key trippy yet adorably quirky robotics and automatons.

Being Scienceworks, there's also an educational element. Expect live demonstrations of the latest robotic tech, market stalls, workshops and games, led by industry-leading robotics experts. Take a tour of the Robo Gallery, learn which of your mates' careers will soon be redundant, and get the latest intel on how robots sense, feel and think.

You can even do the robot with a robot at the droid disco. Of course, cosplay is 100% encouraged, and ‘cos it’s a day for all ages, it’s time to get your little human in R2D2 getup. Prizes are up for grabs for the best display of fashion-forward and classic Cosplay outfits. Grab your tickets here.
