Auckland Beer Mile

Beer lovers, this one’s for you. Auckland is going to be home to a Beer Mile.

It's no secret that the City of Sails is home to a thriving beer culture, celebrating everything from crafty concoctions to excellent food pairings. To make the most of it, a beer walking tour launches this Saturday and involves seven of Auckland’s best bars through Morningside, Kingsland and Eden Terrace.

Let's break down the stellar itinerary.

Firstly, feast on ‘killer’ fries and soak in the vibe at 605 Bar before heading to Urbanaut Brewery for tastings and paddles. Once you've enjoyed that, get a taste of creativity with a hop, skip and a jump to Kingsland’s Garage Project for tasters of their famous brews.

Then head up the hill to Save Ferris, an 80s themed arcade bar where you can button smash your way through the likes of Addams Family pinball with a pint and hot dog in hand. While you’re at it, discover rare beers down below at The Beer Jerk Bunker, which boasts Auckland’s largest bottled beer selection.

Following that, take a stroll across to Galbraith’s Alehouse for a British-style hand-pulled ale brewed on site before ending your adventure at Brothers Juke Joint. Here, you'll be able to feast on an expertly smoked beef brisket and a chicken wing or two paired with beer straight from the tanks.

With plenty of brews, banter and bites, what better way to spend an afternoon? Better yet, the entire tour has been designed with public transport in mind so there’s no need to worry about who’s driving. Winning.
