Biceps at the ready, axe throwing is trending. Not one, but two axe throwing gyms are about to open in Perth.
First up, MANIAX Axe Throwing. Since opening in Sydney in 2015 and then taking Brisbane by storm in 2018, MANIAX has seen over 100,000 eager axe throwers through its doors with zero injuries, so there’s no need to worry about the sport doing any harm to your body.
With “ax-pert” coaches, purpose-built venues, quality axes and a competitive league, MANIAX is coming to John Street in Northbridge on 14 September. Expect plenty of chips, choccy and non-alco drinks to keep you energised.
And then there's Lumber Punks Axe Throwing which is swinging open its doors on Kensington Street in East Perth a week earlier on 5 September.
Each session with Lumber Punks kicks off with “Tactical Tomahawks and Hatchets” training, where you’ll add some skills to your zombie apocalypse survival set. It’s been a hit on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, and if Jason Momoa swears by it, we do too. Plus, the East Perth location means you can head over to Bright Tank Brewing Co for a post throw brew.
Time to start assembling your axe throwing crew.
