Dumplings from Authentic Bites, one of Perth's iconic dishes available takeaway

Perth is home to some very special dishes we’re all missing right now. Fortunately, members of our diverse hospo scene are doing their best to bring the city those cult menu items you can’t find anywhere else. So if you thought you had to stop ticking off your foodie to-eat list, think again.

Go on, bring some joy to your life for at least 15 minutes and get to work knocking all 14 of these iconic Perth dishes off your eat-at-home list.

Whole Goat Shoulder | Bivouac

When we heard Bivouac was delivering, we had all our fingers and toes crossed that the whole goat shoulder would still be on the table and boy did they deliver. Not only can you get this take away, but if you don’t want to leave your house, you can order “Biveroo” and have it delivered. The cauliflower rice tabouli is also still on the menu so you might want to add that to your order too.

Massaman Beef Curry | Long Chim

The chang mai larp might not be on the takeaway menu at Long Chim, but the massman beef curry is and for that we are grateful. A Muslim style curry with sweet potato, this is exactly what the doctor ordered as the nights are getting cooler. These guys are also delivering cocktails, just in case you want to up your takeaway dinner game.

Chopped Broccoli Salad | Petition Kitchen

Who would have thought a broccoli salad would become a cult dish when Petition Kitchen opened a few years back? Probably no one, until they tasted it. Finished off with toasty grains, walnuts and feta, this is one of those dishes we could eat all day every day and never get sick of it. Get it alongside one of their takeaway burgers and call it a day.

Tiramisu | Post

Just about everything on the Post menu is a cult dish if you ask us—the lasagne only just missed out on scoring the title—but we just can’t go past the thought of eating that Tiramisu in our PJs. Now that’s living.

Roberto’s Traditional Lasagne | Il Lido

While we used to have to wait until Sunday for Il Lido’s famous lasagne for two, they’ve gone ahead and answered our lockdown prayers by putting it on the menu every single day. If you’re looking for comfort food, this is it. Pair it with a bottle of red and you’ve got yourself one killer meal. Maybe add the cold drip tiramisu too.

Pasta | Wines Of While

We never thought we’d get lucky enough to enjoy Wines of While’s pasta at home, but all pandemics have a silver lining and this might just be COVID-19’s. Pick up a box of fresh pasta and sauce and you’ll be given very simple cooking instructions to cook it to perfection. Pour yourself a glass of natty wine and close your eyes and you might just be able to believe your sitting on William Street.

Gnocchi | Odyssea

City Beach

Odyssea’s pillowy soft gnocchi is now available to have at home so thank your lucky stars. Get it with Shark Bay prawns or with spinach and tomato sugo for a vegetarian friendly version. And because there’s no such thing as too many potatoes, we’d add a side of their fried Royal Blues with porcini salt and parmesan.

Orange Is The New Stack | Duck Duck Bruce

Looking for a breakfast delivery? Duck Duck Bruce has got you covered. There’s plenty on offer if you’re not into sweets, but we can’t go past their pancakes. Vanilla pancakes with burnt orange curd, gingerbread crumble and cream cheese whip, what’s not to love?

Pork And Prawn Wontons In Spicy Sauce | Authentic Bites Dumpling House

There’s no need to ever go without a dumpling fix from Authentic Bites Dumpling House, and while they’ve made a bunch of their dumplings available to take home and cook yourself, we still can’t go past the pork and prawn wontons in spicy sauce. Order a serving of those and a few packs of frozen dumplings to cook up whenever the cravings strike.

Avocado Smash | Someday Coffee Co

We couldn’t write a list of cult dishes and not include a smashed avo, and lucky for you Someday Coffee Co is doing their delicious version to takeaway. With lemon, feta, a poached egg and a herby salad, this is way better than anything you could whip up at home.

Ice Cream Sangas | Piggy Food Co

North Fremantle

Look, we’ll level with you. You’ve actually always been able to get Piggy’s ice cream sangas to takeaway, but now more than ever you deserve one of these bad boys. Heck, you deserve a few. Stock up and keep them in your freezer for when you’re feeling blue. The team here is also doing two heat-at-home meals each week so you can get dinner while you’re there.

High Tea | The Treasury

We didn’t think we’d see the day we could get high tea complete with champagne delivered to our door, but alas it’s here and we’re not complaining. Think savoury bites like smoked chicken mini baguettes and prawn cocktails followed up with mango bavarois and dark chocolate cremeaux plus more for dessert. Add a bottle of sparkling or champagne, you deserve it.

Honeycake | The Honeycake

The Honeycake has just started delivering three days per week around Perth so now you can get the standard Honeycake, pandan Honeycake or even Honeycake cheesecake dropped at your doorstep. Oh what a time to be alive.

All The Pizzas | Monsterella

We really did try to narrow it down to one particular pizza, but at the end of the day, all of Monsterella's pizzas are as good as each other. We're big fans of the Frankie, but you can't go wrong with anything so close your eyes, point and order.
