Blast away the last of your lockdown blues when a brand new drive-in music festival hits the Sunshine Coast next month.
Held at Nambour Showgrounds from Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July, Airwaves will be bringing together some of Australia's best punk rockers, indie pop and folk performers for one weekend only.
The theme is an ‘outer space’ music festival, where you’ll park up in the cockpit AKA the showgrounds, to listen to the likes of The Dreggs, The Chats and Pierce Brothers to name a few.
There’ll be contactless ticketing, plus “Cosmic Cravings” packs (included in your ticket price and loaded with candy and popcorn) and in-flight meals delivered to your car—think pizzas and ice-cream.
The event is BYO, so choose your favourite space juice and get the Esky packed with ice. And if you feel like donning some fancy dress, organisers are encouraging space ravers to rock up in their best galaxy-themed threads to really set the scene.
With a limit of only 275 vehicles per night, you’ll need to zoom over and grab your tickets fast. Each ticket is on a per car basis, so find four mates you want to make history with—who knows if there’ll ever be a drive-in music festival on the Sunshine Coast again—and then paper, scissors, rock to nominate the designated driver.
