Once upon a time there was a mere handful of markets on the Sunshine Coast.
Not anymore, we’re embracing market culture with wide open tote bags and newbies are popping up faster than Beyonce’s twin-filled baby-mama-belly.
From twilight to farmers’ markets—here are the newest markets on the Sunshine Coast.
The Mooloolaba Collective Markets
A collective indeed, these markets bring together some of the Coast’s most talented artisans and creators. Handmade clothing, homemade candles (yeah, you know the kind we’re talking about—delicious smells coming at ya!), jewellery, art, food, coffee, live music… Even haircuts inside the cutest retro caravan we ever did see! You’ll leave The Mooloolaba Collective Markets inspired, proud as punch to be a Coastarian and, let’s be honest, with somewhere between three and 10 bags of goodies.
When: 8.30am to 12.30pm, 4th Sunday of every month (next market is February 26)
Where: Mooloolaba State Primary School Oval
All relaxed and boutique-y, Havana Nights in Peregian Springs is where you can enjoy a cocktail and dinner while perusing hand-crafted, locally-made goods, and vintage wares. With a plethora of gourmet food stands, an equally grand selection of dessert options (ahem, buttermilk doughnuts and ice cream curls), and live music, the vibe is on point.
When: 4pm to 8pm, 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month
Where: 220 The Avenue, Peregian Springs
Hinterland Harvest Market
If you want the freshest quality produce that the Sunshine Coast and our surrounding farming communities can offer, Hinterland Harvest Market is for you. A huge variety of fresh, ethically-grown produce direct from the farmer, locally-grown flowers, handmade pasta, baked goods, seedlings, honey, and a nice selection of drool-worthy breakfasts, brunches, smoothies, and coffee. With so much to taste test, TF it’s on every weekend.
When: 6am to 11am, every Saturday
Where: 7-9 Kiel Mountain Road, Woombye
Timari Village Marketplace (Coming Soon)
Okay, so as you probably noticed by the words between the brackets, Timari Village is not yet in action. But it won’t be long till they launch, folks and when they do we’ll be ready to throw our tastebuds at them when they do. Set to take place in Pacific Paradise, there’ll be a Friday night foodie market and a Saturday morning farmers’ market. How’s that for covering all bases of “awesome”?! Keep your eyes on their Facebook page for updates.
When: Coming soon!
Where: Timari Street, Pacific Paradise
