Calling all green thumbs! If you’re as mad about greenery as we are, you’ll be super excited to know there’s a plant swap happening on the Sunshine Coast this weekend!

Held on Saturday 2 September, by the generous folks at the not-for-profit Steps Nursery in Caloundra, bring along any plants or seedlings you no longer want or need, and exchange them for a piece of greenery your heart actually desires. Yep, this event totally nails the “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” sentiment.

The nursery will be open from 9am to 2pmpm with a sausage sizzle, market stalls and workshops, to help raise money that will allow Steps to keep giving back to the community.

It should be noted, there’s no point bringing Mr Almost Dead Fiddle Leaf Fig to the party though, as all plants must be healthy, well-watered, and pest and disease-free. Plants also need to be in a container, with any left-over leafy numbers donated to the nursery. Hey, they’re going to a good home.

So, mark your diaries, prep your giveaways and bring a box or shopping bag to take your new pets, we mean plants, home! This could just about be the best idea ever.

The Details
