Alarm bells are ringing in the entertainment world this fine day with the full-length trailer drop of Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King. We’d be lying if we said tears and goosebumps didn’t also make an appearance because the trailer is pure, unadulterated nostalgia.

This time around, the official trailer is sans iconic opening scene and instead kicks off with a Scar voiceover, so it’s pretty dark to begin with. Fear not though, a Mufasa monologue is imminent (cue said tears) and we finally get a look at Timon and Pumbaa.

The cast is looking like damn fire too with Beyonce (Nala), Donald Glover (Simba), Eric Andre (Ed the Hyena), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar) so let’s just say if we could jump to its release date in cinemas, we would.

The Lion King will join a line-up of other Disney live-action remakes (including The Jungle Book, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan) and is set to drop 17 July 2019.
