Indoor plants are all the rage right now and we’re the first to admit we’re totally obsessed. Plants in the kitchen, plants in the lounge room, plants in the bedroom…plants everywhere!
So, you can imagine how stoked we were to get a tipoff that a cute-as-a-button indoor plant shop has just opened on the Sunshine Coast. You’re listening now, aren’t you?
Green Collective threw wide open its doors in Maroochydore last month, so we went along to check it out IRL.
Tucked right near Sunshine Plaza, beneath hairdressing salon House Of George, this beautiful little oasis specialises in indoor plants. So, unlike a nursery with a small portion of indoor lushness, Green Collective’s sole focus on these babies means you’ll get in-depth knowledge and tips to turn that black thumb of yours into a green one. Winning!
Owned by Taier Bage, the space is home to much-coveted species like Fiddle Leaf Figs and Devils Ivy, with lesser known, harder-to-get plants like Silver Swords or the Pink Princess. On top of bagging a new plant friend, there’s also potting mix, indoor gardening tools, coffee table books and a gorgeous range of baskets and pots from brands such as Angus & Celeste pots, Jones & Co, Bloomingville and Mr Kitly to take home.
And just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it does—because Green Collective is also an espresso bar, serving local First Batch Coffee. Order a cup of coffee and take it for a stroll as you pick out which plant you’ll be taking home or, grab a mag and perch in the sun on the patio out front—both sound pretty perfect.
Open six days a week, pop by Green Collective and check out what all the fuss is about. But be warned, you won’t leave empty-handed.
Consider yourself a serial plant killer? Here's an indoor plant guide for your kind of people.
