Let’s all share a moment of silence for the (temporary) closing of Alfredo’s Pizzeria. Okay, now that that’s over and done with, we’d like to introduce you to the revolutionary idea taking over Alfredo’s Fortitude Valley space until its reopening later in the year. Kicking off on 14th September, the now former Alfredo’s will be opening its venue and kitchens to a slew of Australia’s best young chefs and bar tenders as part of their new pop-up restaurant and bar series.
The new program is designed to allow the best of Australia’s culinary world a chance to do their thing without the red tape associated with opening a standalone restaurant. While the full line-up is currently under wraps, you can bet there will be an ever-changing smorgasbord of foodie delights ready to bless our tastebuds.
The first pop-up restaurant will feature Chef Lawson’s (of Two Small Rooms and Blvd. fame) award-winning American-style BBQ meats, but it will only be available for three days, so make sure you get in quick.
The whole idea comes from the mind of Damian Griffiths, the man responsible for such iconic Brisbane eats as Alfred & Constance, Kwan Brothers and Mister Fitz. In other words, he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to food combinations worthy of our dreams. The pop-up series is his way of giving back to the Brisbane foodie community and we are SO on board. Guys, it’s time to don your fanciest fat pants. This dining experience is going to be killer.
