It’s time to get nostalgic people: from Friday 25 October, Melbourne Central will host an exclusive art exhibition celebrating one of the most iconic shows, Sesame Street.
Relive your happiest (and probably drooliest) days at Melbourne Central’s visual feast of bespoke prints and murals of 50 beloved Sesame Street characters. Sesame Street: 50 years and counting will showcase 50 artists reimagining 50 established Sesame Street characters from their 50-year history.
Local curator Eddie Zammit (a Sesame Street fanatic), has worked with all 50 artists and matched them to their respective characters to shaped an incredibly interactive experience.
“I am thrilled to be working alongside Melbourne Central to help drive this wonderful exhibition,” says Zammit. “The selected artists come from a range of different backgrounds and cities and are both established and emerging, thus helping to truly capture the Sesame Street exhibition as a global phenomenon.”
Artists include Jeremy Fish, DXTR The Weird, Mighty Short, Kate Pullen, Kentaro Yoshida, Gemma Correll and lots more.
Entry is free because nostalgia is priceless, so get to it.
