Hellooooooo summer! It’s that glorious time of the year when wearing less is more, everyone’s wayyy more chilled and day-drinking is not only totally acceptable, it’s encouraged. And nothing says “hey guys, it’s summer. I’m here and I’m ready for the good times,” like an Aperol Spritz.
Made with prosecco, Aperol and soda, the Aperol Spritz is one of those cocktails that’s quickly gaining popularity with us Aussies. Probably because, like the drink itself, we’re fun, light-hearted and a little bit colourful (no, not bright orange—unless you’ve had a bad fake tan).
Besides looking like the perfect summer drink, the Aperol Spritz also tastes like the perfect summer drink. And by that we mean it’s not too sweet, a little bit citrusy and—a hot weather requirement—served refreshingly cold.
Aperol Spritz Summer Sessions
To celebrate the warmer months, there’ll be Aperol Spritz parties held at some awesome bars around Melbourne where you can get your cocktail on well and good. There’ll be Aperol Spritz available for just $10, so you can enjoy more of them (responsibly, of course). Or, have extra cash left over for delicious food (because we’re never not thinking about eating).

Spritz Sundays at Half Moon Hotel, Brighton
From 3pm till late get into Aperol Spritz Sundays down in Brighton, with $10 Aperol Spritz in the leafy, sun-drenched courtyard. Not to mention, there’ll be live music every week for the next 5 weeks of summer.

Super Sunsets at Trunk Bar, Melbourne
Nothing says “summer vibes” quite like Spritz, ping-pong, and tropical tunes. On select Sundays, head in for their Super Sunsets from 2pm, where you can enjoy a set from the Spin Club DJs in the CBD’s biggest beer garden.

Pop Up Spritz at Find The Wharf, Docklands
The team that showcased Melbourne’s rooftops via The Red Hummingbird and the former Emerald Peacock are at it again! Find the Wharf, Mutiny on the Bay! - or F.T.W (as the site is cheekily referred to) - a pop-up installation located at North Wharf, Docklands. It's a space that is bustling with punters sipping on Aperol Spritz, and soaking up the sun and the stunning views.

Bayside Sunday Sessions at D.O.C, Albert Park
Aperol Spritz has partnered with D.O.C Albert Park to bring you an afternoon of Aperol Spritz and chilled summer beats. Come down post-beach and enjoy an Italian twist on the infamous bayside at their Sunday Session. Sundays in December from 3pm till 6pm!

Make An Aperol Spritz Yourself At Home
So you’ve invited some friends over and you want to impress them with your cocktail making skillz (but don’t actually have said skillz)? Make them an Aperol Spritz—it’s as easy as 3, 2, 1…
3 parts prosecco
2 parts Aperol
1 part soda
Add ice and a thin wedge of orange and all the accolades and high fives from your drinking companions will be yours.
