Oh hello four-day weekend! Aren’t we all glad to see you? We’ve lined up a stack of activities to get you into the Easter spirit and stop you from devouring endless quantities of choccy eggs and hot cross buns at home for its entirety. The Caufield Easter Cup and Flemington Racecourse Easter Market will be sure to get you feelin' festive. For those keen to ditch the Easter rituals, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten you. Events like an open air day party, rooftop clothing market and comedy show are set to keep you occupied.

Read on for our list of the best events to visit in Melbourne this Easter long weekend and their key deets. 

All Weekend 

Häagen-Dazs™ House at Fed Square

Calling all ice-cream lovers... That's everyone, right?! Grab a spoon and get yourselves down to Häagen-Dazs™ House, the fantastic pop-up featuring the world's tastiest ice-cream, which is in Fed Square all weekend. You'll find a host of flavours there to try, and the team will be on hand to serve you scoops from $6 a pop and take-home tubs for $15 but you'd better be quick—there are limited numbers. This ice-cream fans' dream is open from 5-10pm on Thursday, 3-11pm on Friday, 2-11pm on Saturday, and 2-9pm on Sunday. Weekend dessert plans = Sorted. 

8th Annual Melbourne Latin Festival 2016 | North Melbourne 

Have you always wanted to learn the tango, samba or salsa? This weekend is your opportunity to do so as the The Melbourne Latin Festival returns for its 8th year running over four spectacular nights at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance. They’re pulling out all the stops with over 150 latin dancers, 12 latin dj’s and 40 dance workshops. Whether you’re a complete novice or full-blown pro, there’s a class just for you. 200 Years of Australian Fashion at the NGV 

The NGV, as part of the VAMFF cultural program, has just unveiled its newest exhibition that showcases the evolution of Australian fashion over the last two centuries, giving you a clue as to why us Aussies are so well-dressed today. Have a gander at exquisite garments from all our design favourites, including the nation’s newest talents like Dion Lee, Ellery and Tony Maticevski. You can purchase your tickets here.

Thursday 24th

Yoga sessions at St Kilda Beach

Give your body some love before an inevitably crazy weekend ahead with a relaxing yoga session on St Kilda Beach, brought to you by the FunAddicts. You can make new pals and take some cool insta fleeks, while saluting to the breathtaking sunset. Be sure to reserve your spot here before arriving for the 7pm start with your mat, towel, water and $5 contribution in hand.

Coburg Drive-In Food Truck Festival: Easter edition 

Get yo’wheels to the Coburg Food Truck Festival this Thursday for a night of food and flicks. Take your pick from blockbusters like My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Batman v Superman and London Has Fallen. Yes, it’s a tuff choice. Even tougher may be your pick of food truck with the likes of St Kilda Burger Bar, Greek Street Food and Donut Panic on offer. Snap up your tickets here

Friday 25th 

Simple - Open Air Day Party | Melbourne CBD 

Not a fan of those good Friday rituals and would rather boogie the day away? Simple’s Open Air Day Party kicking off at 1pm at Bourke Place Lane is your kinda event. Techno legends Boogs & Sushine are headlining the event and if you’re not enticed yet, the $12 Sangria Jugs and $6 Sommersby’s should do it. Saturday 26th 

Caulfield Easter Cup Aka. Melbourne's Best Easter Festival

Easter comes but once a year, and with it comes the opportunity to kick back over the extra-long weekend and enjoy some food, drink and Easter egg action. We can't think of a better place to spend our Saturday than at the Caulfield Easter Cup, where there will be heaps of food truck action, an Easter egg hunt and, of course, the excitement that comes as standard with the races. Tickets are only $10 per person and the action kicks off at 11.30am, meaning you can still make the most of your Friday night. 

Evelyn Rooftop Market | Fitzroy

If you’re passionate about sustainable fashion, or just love a good bargain, the Evelyn Rooftop Market is the place to check out this Saturday. It promises to be a quintessentially Northside fashun event. You will be able to get your hands on some vintage gems, trendy second-hand clothing and accessories, and new items from our city’s talented emerging designers. Sunday 27th 

Flemington Racecourse Easter Market 

Why hassle with preparing the Easter festivities at home when the Flemington Racecourse Market has done it all for you? Bring along the picnic blanket and sample an array of delicious sauces and spreads, as well as fully prepared homemade meals. Boutique stalls showcasing fine art, photography, fashion jewellery, sculptures and more, will be there for you to peruse. Don’t worry, the kids will be preoccupied with the animal farm and loads of other kiddie-friendly activities. The event runs from 9am til 2pm. More info can be found here

The Tarantinos at The Gem | Collingwood

The biggest act of the month is set to land this Sunday at our fave BBQ and Texan fair joint, The Gem Bar & Dining Room. In case you didn’t already known or guess from their name (duh!), The Tarantinos are a band full-blown dedicated to the music of film legend, Quentin Tarantino…. Classic. You will hear a bitta everything including rock, blues, soul and country. Get down early to score a seat at the bar, or otherwise book a table and enjoy some legit American BBQ by calling 03 9419 5170.   

Monday 28th

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival 

Finish off the weekend mayhem with a great big LOL at a Melbourne International Comedy Festival show. Our pick of the day for some on-point observational comedy is Rhys Nicholson’s stand-up, ‘Bona Fide’, at the Melbourne Town Hall. Grab yo tickets for the 9:30pm session here. For those up for a bigger one, look no further than the Comedy Pub Crawl presented by Jamie McCarney. Gallivant (or stumble) between four selected bars where you will find a surprise top-class comedian at each. FYI, Jim Jeffries and Adam Hills have featured at these crawls in previous years. Winery Walkabout

The ultimate June long wekeend activity, Winery Walkabout is on again and early-bird tickets are selling fast! It's the perfect introduction to wine and wine tours and is set to be a cracking weekend. We're suckers for a dinner party, and if it's a French themed one at one of our favourite French restaurants, all the better! Food Social is hosting the next installment of its Global Feasts From A-Z on the 1st of April. They're up to 'F' so The French Brasserie will be cooking up a storm.
