The good news: we're a quarter way through the year. The even better news: it's almost the weekend (helllls yeah!). We all know Melburnians love their shopping, and boy do we have a treat for you this weekend, sartorial stylers! H&M are finnnallly opening their GPO doors and there's a heap of designer sales on too. That's not all, folks, we've also got a huge list of degustations, cooking classes and festivals to keep you busy this weekend


One thing we can all agree on is that the best thing about the lead-up to Easter is being able to gorge yourself senseless on hot cross buns. Loaded with dried fruit, toasted and smothered in butter, there's truly nothing better.  Learn how to make traditional hot cross buns, along with other Easter treats, with award-winning chef, Emma Mackay, today at the Centre for Adult Education. It's time to get excited, because Scholars' exclusive degustation dinners are back! The cosy North Melbourne wine bar is hosting a six-course dining experience showcasing wines from Western Australia's Duke's Vineyard. Meat, glorious meat! Jess Pryles, aka BurgerMary, will be hosting her world-famous Carnivores Ball this Friday and Saturday at Ormond Hall. The three-course dinner is the ultimate celebration of meat, with everything down to dessert championing the good stuff.

Yep, pork fat caramel donuts with pork scratching and cinnamon sugar, served with baked sweet corn custard. Holy cholesterol! Rockwell & Sons, Silver Creek Smokers and The Wondersnack Co will be there, as will Little Creatures with their wonderful beer, USA foods with a pop-up shop and Catfish Voodoo playing some sweet tunes.
