We all know Aucklanders have impeccable taste and one thing we go crazy for is seafood. So, we’re sure you’ll be stoked to find out an oyster festival is coming to Auckland this March.
The first of the month marks the start of Bluff oyster season in New Zealand and Auckland’s Nourish Group believes that is something to celebrate—and so do we. The Princes Wharf festival takes place throughout March with events and special offers.
Teaming up with some legendary restaurants such as Euro, The Culpeper, Coley & Punch, and The Crab Shack, Nourish Group brings all-you-can-eat oysters, bargain bargain-priced oysters, live music, and even masterclasses.
Kicking off the festival is The First Haul: All You Can Eat Bluff Oysters on Tuesday, March 5 at Euro. The oysters will be served natural, Kilpatrick and tempura, followed by a set two-course menu. Or enjoy the Great Bluff Lunch on Wednesday, March 20 where there will be free-flowing champagne.
Another epic event is the Oyster and Music Festival on Saturday, 30 March. Held at The Culpeper, devour your share of 200 dozen free oysters on offer. With tunes by DJ Phoebe and DJ Alice Rose, it's the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, then test your hand in the Oyster Shucking Competition.
There are plenty of other events throughout the month to enjoy, so get shucking.
